Linda S. Richey, 73, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on February 9, 1948, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the daughter of James H. Thomas and Mae Evlin (Overton) Thomas. Linda graduated from Scottsburg High School Class of 1966 and then earned her nursing degree from the old New Albany School of Practical Nursing. On October 24, 1969, she married Marvin Lee Richey, who survives. Linda was a retired Patient Resource Director for Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she worked for 45 years retiring in November of 2012 and was a member of the Scaffold Lick Baptist Church near Blocher, Indiana. In addition to her father, Linda is preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Richey and a sister, Robin Pruitt. In addition to her mother, Ann, and husband, Marvin, Linda's survivors include two sons, Scott R. "Randy" (Tish) Richey of Utica, Indiana and Marty (Cindy) Richey of Raymond, Mississippi; two daughters, Kelly (Philip) Eggleston and Jill (Dale) Baker all of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Peggy (Frank) Mays and Nancy Thomas all of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Larry (Lisa) Thomas and Bobby (Margie) Thomas all of Scottsburg, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Jimmy, Brittany Jonathan, Jacob, Abby, Caroline, Dawson, Ellen & Macy and seven great grandchildren, Cindy, Lola, Nash, Lyle, Emily, Luke, and Natalie. Graveside Service for friends and family will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Scaffold Lick Cemetery in Blocher, Indiana with Rev. David Culley officiating.
