Lloyd Keith "Johnny" Conover Sr., 79, a devoted husband, father, brother, and veteran of the United States Navy passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on December 15, 1944, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late William and Wilma (Means) Conover. Johnny was a proud American and a member of Scottsburg American Legion Post #234. After retiring as a Chief in the United States Navy, he went on to be the supervising mechanic at the San Diego Airport in San Diego, California. On November 16, 2009, Johnny married his wife Debbie, who survives. In addition to his parents and first wife, Sharon, Johnny was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Gibson and Donna Hash; and stepdaughter, Nina Keown. He is survived by his wife, Debbie of Lexington, Indiana; son, Keith Conover of Florida; two daughters, Lorri MaCilvaine of California and Bailey Conover; brother, Mike (Vickie) Conover; sister, Janice Spillman; stepson, Mitchell Keown; nine grandchildren, Corey and Matt Conover, Tyler, Trevor, and Ashley MaCilvaine, Caylee, Carlee, and Elmon Keown, and Jalen Spicer; and one great grandchild, Matt Newcomb. The funeral service Friday, June 14, 2024, at 12:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Aaron Flucke officiating. Visitation is 10:00am to 12:00pm prior to the service on Friday. Interment and Military Graveside Honors will follow services at Moffett Cemetery, in Milton, Kentucky.
