Lois M Brough

Lois M Brough, 94, passed away on July 23, 2026, at Meadow Health and Rehab in Salem, Indiana. She was born on December 22, 1931 in Jennings County, Indiana, to the late Ralph Collison "Red" Keith and Lula Marie (Grant) Keith. She graduated from Salem High School in 1950. Lois married Emil Ray Brough on November 22, 1951, and he passed on October 14, 1991. Lois will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated homemaker and a cherished mother. In addition to her family, Lois touched the lives of many as a former school cook at Little York Grade School and Salem Middle School. Her passions extended beyond the kitchen; she loved tending to her flowers, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and traveling in her earlier years. In addition to her parents and late husband, Emil, Lois is preceded in death by one son, Donnie Brough; son in law, Joe (Connie) Mills; two brothers, Robert Keith and Don Keith; one grandson and granddaughter in law, Aaron and Missy Humphrey. Lois is survived by three daughters, Sue (Larry) Humphrey of Salem, Indiana, Connie Mills of Little York, Indiana, Cindy (Danny) Starr of Springville, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Chad (Jisella) Brough, Brandon (Lindsey) Brough, Anson (Becky) Humphrey, Adam (Erin) Humphrey, Danielle (Jarrod) Butler, Kristen Starr, Eric (Tara) Mills, Michelle Mills, and Sarah (Jeremy) Shell; thirteen great grandchildren, Connor, Lilly, Jackson, Greyson, Kellen, Morgan, Kinley, Kyson, Stevie Jo, Logan, Josi, Laken, and Chayton. The funeral service for Lois will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Little York Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Lois's name to Donnie L. Brough memorial scholership fondation in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
