Lois Meagher, 96, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Diversicare of Providence in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on December 18, 1925 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Anthony Hellman and Laticia (Schulten) Linton. On May 15, 1946, Lois married John L. Meagher, who passed away on June 13, 2012. First and foremost, Lois was a homemaker and mother. She also had worked at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant and on the family dairy farm. Lois was a longtime member of the Church of the American Martyrs in Scottsburg, Indiana and a Life member of the Greenbriar Homemakers Club in Lexington, Indiana. She was an excellent cake decorator and quilter and enjoyed needle point. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Marie Cumbee and a sister, Marlene Mosley. Survivors include three sons, Mike (Ellen) Meagher and Jim (Eva) Meagher all of Sellersburg, Indiana and Paul (Terri) Meagher of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, JoAnn Pelle of Louisville, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, John Michael, Carrie Ann, Dana, Danny, Brian, Ashley, Megan, Lauren, Mitchell, and AnneMarie, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 am on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Church of the American Martyrs in Scottsburg, Indiana with Rev. Santhosh Yohannan officiating. Visitation: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home and after 10:00 am Thursday at American Martyrs Catholic Church. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
