Loreena (Reenie) Smith, 84, Little York, Indiana passed away July 23 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born July 5, 1939, first child of Mary Lucille "Donnelle" and Bill Marion, in what her family called "Litte Cumberland Gap" in Washington County, Indiana. Her family later moved to a small farm in Leota where she spent most of her childhood. She attended the one room school in Leota before graduating from Scottsburg High School, Class of 1957.

On October 31, 1959, she was married to her husband of 63 years, Marion "Woody" Smith, in the Little York Christian Church. She was a homemaker for most of their years together but was willing and able to jump in and help when and wherever needed. Together they made a good life for themselves. They loved going for rides through the country, going to yard sales and flea markets, and eating out. She loved her grandchildren and loved spending time with and caring for them. She enjoyed going to many different places on tour buses with her mother, sister, and first grandchild.

Loreena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woody, and her grandson; Sterling K. Backus. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Smith and Janice (Tommy) Fleenor; her sister, Linda Sparrow; her brother, Roy (Sharon) Marion; her grandson, Dalton Fleenor; her granddaughter and great granddaughter, Christina (Jason) Smith and Micaela Smith, both who lived with and cared for in her final days.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Friday, July 28, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Bro. Rodney Sweeney officiating. Visitation 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm pm Friday at Collins Funeral Home.
