Lucy Jones Collier, 80, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on April 24, 1940 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Burchel and Catherine (Couch) Jones. Lucy was a homemaker and a member of the Shelter for the Sheep Church in Austin, Indiana. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard and gardening. Lucy also raised chickens and loved animals, especially her pets. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Tony A. and Timothy D. Finley; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Young; two brothers, Belve and Paul Jones and two sisters, Irene Kiser and Vesta Enden. Survivors include her husband, Leon Collier; four daughters, Geneva (Curt) Pearson of Commiskey, Indiana, Patricia (Gary) Hathaway of Scottsburg, Indiana, Barbara (Todd) Hangen of Greenville, Ohio and Tracy Stanton (Tony Newton) of Seymour, Indiana; five sons, Bobby Finley of Seymour, Indiana, Douglas (Tammy) Finley of Piqua, Ohio, Marvin (Taylor) Finley of Austin, Indiana, Shawn (Jackie) Collier of Underwood, Indiana and Jimmy Collier of Seymour, Indiana; three brothers, Richard (Arkie) Jones of Austin, Indiana, Bill Jones of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Coy (Mona) Jones of Virginia; a sister, Sara Jones of Virginia; twenty six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Jackson officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm on Monday and after 10 am on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and funeral services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive order. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
