Mae Evlin "Ann" Thomas, 97, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She was born on May 4, 1925 in Hagan, Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert Frank Overton and Lula Myrtle (Weston) Overton. She was then raised in Speedwell, Tennessee. On November 13, 1943 she married James H. Thomas, who passed away on April 4, 2013. Mae was a homemaker and a long time member of the Scaffold Lick Baptist Church Near Blocher, Indiana. In addition to her parents and husband, James, Mae was preceded in death by six brothers, Roy M., Campbell C., Edwin Eugene, John Earl, Jimmy Don and Fred Overton; two sisters, Martha E. Parks and Grace Overton; two daughters, Linda Richey and Robin Prewitt. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy (Frank) Mays and Nancy Thomas; two sons, Larry (Lisa) Thomas and Bobby (Margie) Thomas; two sons-in-law, Marvin Richey and Doug Prewitt all of Scottsburg, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Private Graveside Services were held at Scaffold Lick Cemetery with Rev. David Culley officiating. Memorial contributions to Scaffold Lick Cemetery in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
