Margaret H. Campbell, 95, of Underwood, Indiana passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on April 14, 1930 in Scott County, Indiana, to the late Ezra Hall and Sarah Elizabeth (Vest) Hall. On January 16, 1947 Margaret married the love of her life, John Paul Campbell, Sr., he passed on August 31, 1991.Margaret was a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. Margaret was known for her unwavering faith and devotion to her church, where she found a deep sense of community and purpose throughout her life. She was a member of the old Underwood Methodist Church and had recently attended the Little York Christian Church in recent years. In 1968, Margaret started working at Henryville school in the cafeteria. She worked for more than 25 years there, where her kind smile and nurturing presence touched the lives of countless children and families. Her greatest joy, however, came from her family. In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul; two children, Jerry Lee and Carl E.; one grandson, Kevin Phillips; five siblings, Robert Hall, Hubert Hall, Mable Louise Melton, Ralph Hall, and Leroy Hall. Survivors include her four daughters, Helen (Bradley) Phillips of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Joyce (Steve) Hoard of Scottsburg, Indiana, Connie Mae (Randy) Baker of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Rita Sue (Mike) Stevens of Scottsburg, Indiana; one son, Buddy (Tracy) Campbell of Henryville, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Dan) Fleshman, Jason (Janaea) Campbell, Jessica (Ryan) Campbell, Ryan (DeLynn) Campbell, Amy (James) Newton, Chris (Rachelle) Baker, Jeremy (Nikki) Stevens, Justin (Chelsea) Stevens, and Jeff (Dana) Stevens; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Lee Brown officiating. Visitation 4:00pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 27, 2025 and after 12:00 noon Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services at Pigeon Roost Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana.
