Margaret Flickner, 95, of Corydon, Indiana passed away on May 7, 2022 at the Harrison Health Springs Campus in Corydon, Indiana. She was born on April 23, 1927 in Harrison County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ralph William and Altha May (Funk) Secrest. On January 1, 1944 she married Ilor H. Flickner, Jr., who passed away after fifty-six years of marriage. Margaret was a member of the New Middletown United Methodist Church in New Middletown, Indiana. She was a retired seamstress at the old Fine Shirt Factory in New Albany, Indiana for almost 40 years, retiring in 1989. Margaret was a working homemaker. When she wasn't cooking a meal for her family, Margaret was often found sewing, crocheting, playing cards, traveling, and going camping. She also had a love for music and visiting the Jamboree. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma McKim and Esther Luther; and four granddaughters, Jenny Anderson, Teresa Flickner, Traci Flickner-Spires, and Anita Flickner. Survivors include her four children, Carol (Sonny) Anderson, Ilor Flickner, III, Sharon (Gerry) Carpenter, and Dennis (Janet) Flickner; two sisters, Olive (John) Bingham and Evon (James) Layer; seven granddaughters, Lori Mattingly, Tina Flickner, Tammy Moore, Dawn Cullins, Robin Kessinger, Penny Stopinski, and Patty Borden; nineteen great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2022 at New Hope Wesleyan Church with Rev. Chuck Morgan officiating. Visitation: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday at New Hope Wesleyan Church in Corydon, Indiana. Interment at New Middletown United Methodist Cemetery in New Middletown, Indiana.
