Obituary

Margaret "Ann" Gay Kollman, 98, formerly of Scottsburg, Indiana, died peacefully at the BeeHive Nursing Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, January 16, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born on February 18, 1922, the smallest sister of a rare set of triplets, to George McIntosh and Eva (Morgan) Gay, in Walkertown (near Hazard), Kentucky. Ann barely tipped the scales at 2-1/4 pounds, but during her lifetime, she lived up to the quote: "Though she be but little, she is fierce." Ann was a woman of faith, an accomplished seamstress, a dedicated homemaker, and a self-taught musician. She was a member of the Henryville Baptist Church, where she was the organist for many years and was also a talented pianist and singer as well. In her nineties, she enjoyed reading hundreds of novels, playing Solitaire and listening to classical music. Following the death of her first husband, John Campbell in 1975, she married William B. Kollman, Sr. of Scottsburg, Indiana in 1976. Ann immediately became a stepmother to four grown children: Helene Kollman, Bill Kollman, Jr., Susan Reasor (Gary) and John Kollman (Cheryl). Over the years, Ann put family first and enjoyed the visits from her nieces and nephews and showered her four grandchildren and one great granddaughter with love and attention. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by all of her siblings including triplet, Sallie Williams; triplet, Polly Ewen; a brother, George Gay; a sister, Eva Gean Wilson and stepdaughter, Helene Kollman. The family would like to express gratitude to Hosparus of Louisville and the BeeHive of Lyndon for their dedicated services and caring treatment of Ann during her final days.
