Marilyn M. Kennedy, 70, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on February 15, 1952, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late George Howard McGinnis and Doris M. (Langhorst) McGinnis. On October 11, 1969, she married the love of her life James L. Kennedy, who passed away on January 1, 2015. Marilyn loved being outside and could often be found hanging out on her front porch. She had been a previous member of the Scottsburg American Legion Post #234 and Scott County Moose Lodge Post #2324. In addition to her parents and husband, James, Marilyn is preceded in death by her three brothers-in-law, Marvin Bixler, Tom and Robert Kennedy. Survivors include son, Jeff (Mechelle) Kennedy of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Jennifer (Toby) Lawson and Kim (Brian Hopkins) Kiefer both of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Roxanna Bixler and Darlene (David ) Amick both of Scottsburg, Indiana; one brother, Kim (Karen) McGinnis of Salem, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Beth (Eddie) Buckel of Scottsburg, Indiana; one brother-in-law, Kenneth (Nikki) Cowles of Brush Creek, Tennessee; aunt, Ruth Langhorst of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Alexis (Cody) Woodall, Kyle Kiefer, Haley Bryant, Gracie Hopkins, Trevor and Kailey Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Gary Satterly officiating. Visitation: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 1, 2022, and after 10:00 am Friday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
