Obituary

Marjorie Shadburn, 86, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on February 5, 2025, at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana with family by her side. She was born on February 17, 1938, in Altro, Kentucky, to the late Miles Spicer and Della (Cole) Spicer. Marjorie dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who entered her home. She had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, always ready to share a smile or lend an ear. Walking among the roses she nurtured, she found both peace and joy, spreading love to everyone around her. A long-time member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, Marjorie's commitment to community and service was evident in all that she did. Her laughter and kindness will be keenly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. In addition to her parents Marjorie is preceded in death by three brothers Silas Spicer, Nacy (Francis) Spicer, and Manuel Spicer; three sisters, Bedel (Ray) Baldwin, Etta (Noah) Jent, and Pauline (Albert) Crider; and one great grandson, Dawson Stamper. Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Judy (Mike) Johnson of Austin, Indiana; two sisters, Betty (Bob) Lamb of Canaan, Indiana and Shannie Hurtt of Scottsburg, Indiana; one granddaughter, Jessica (Kyle) Blevins; and one great grandson, Vaughn Michael Blevins. Graveside service for Marjorie will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 1:30pm at New Providence Cemetery in Austin, Indiana.
