November 11, 1961 – August 15, 2024
Mark Anthony Schilawski, 62, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at his home in Austin, Indiana. He was a lifetime resident of Scott County, Indiana. Mark was born November 11, 1961, in Hamilton, Ohio. His parents were Robert Earl Schilawski and Meldia (Fugate) Schilawski. He married his love Pam Clements on May 18, 2024, in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loyal dogs Woody and Mittens. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pam; Brother, Dr. John Schilawski (Amy) of New Whiteland, Indiana; Sons, Tyler "Drew" Schilawski (Caitlin) of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Roberto "Bobby" Chapa Jr. (Nicole) of New Washington, Indiana; Daughters Morgan Richie (Cory) of Austin, Indiana and Alexandrea Johnson of Scottsburg, Indiana. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, Hunter and Lauren, Nia, Marlee, River, Everleigh, Cameron, and Jordan. Mark grew up in Scottsburg where he attended Bethel Lutheran Church. He played a part in resurrecting his former boyhood church in the creation of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scottsburg. He graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in 1980 where he participated in football and wrestling. He was also a graduate of Vincennes University in 1982 with an associate's degree in law enforcement Conservation. Mark retired in January 2024 from Southern Mold and Tool in Scottsburg. He was a tool and die maker for most of his career. He took profound joy in his family and loved Ohio State University Football with a passion. Mark's other interests were shooting his guns, hunting and especially his bear hunting trip to Minnesota, fishing, camping, taking his boat out with family and friends on Hardy Lake, and his dogs. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by a celebration service at 6:00pm at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg, Indiana.
