Martha Darlene Whitsitt, 60 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, in Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on March 6, 1962 in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Orbin Spencer and Wanda L. (Newby) Spencer. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Alpha Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana. On June 8, 1985 she married Oral Lynn Whitsitt, who survives. She was preceded by her parents, step father, James Meeks of Scottsburg and Brother in Law, Tim Cruz of Scottsburg, Indiana. Survivors include her husband, Oral Lynn Whitsitt of Scottsburg, Indiana; daughter, Katherine Marie Whitsitt of Gilbert, Arizona; son, Gregory Lynn Whitsitt of Scottsburg, Indiana; three brothers, Scott D. (Sheila) Spencer of Scottsburg, Indiana, Martin L. (Robin) Spencer of Brownstown, Indiana, and Marvin S. (Shirlene) Spencer of Scottsburg, Indiana; three sisters; Sandy (Bob) Galloway of Keystone Heights, Florida, Beverly Cruz of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Virginia L. (Steve) Woodruff of Scottsburg, Indiana; one stepbrother, Terry R. (Sandy) Meeks of Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Sunday January 22, 2023, 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home and after 10: 00 am Monday at Alpha Baptist. Services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Alpha Baptist with Rev. Stan Carroll officiating. In keeping with Martha's wishes cremation services was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home.
