Marvin Scott North, 66, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on August 3, 1957 in Madison, Indiana, the son of the late Marvin H. North and Edna Pauline (Stearns) McKinny, who survives. Scott has been with his fiancé, Vicki, for over twenty-two years. Scott worked with his father selling and assembling sawmills all over United States and also loved to help his brother in law, Mark Gardner surveying land in Scott County. He attended the Scottsburg United Methodist Church with Vicki, but grew up at Bethel Baptist Church. Scott was an avid movie collector and a big John Wayne fan. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a gun enthusiast and also was a 14 year member of Friends of Hardy Lake. Scott was preceded in death by his dad, Marvin. Survivors include mother & stepfather, Edna Pauline (Virgil "Mac") McKinny of Scottsburg, Indiana; fiancé, Vicki Bordner of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, David (Shirley) North of Scottsburg, Indiana and Jerry (Jill Richey) North of Scottsburg, Indiana; and a stepsister, Jan (Mike) Blackburn of Burnettsville, Indiana. Funeral Service 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Zachary Manton officiating. Visitation 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be made to Scott County Heritage Center and Museum or Friends of Hardy Lake in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
