Mary Lou Banks

Mary Lou Banks, 87, of Underwood, Indiana passed away on May 31, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on December 17, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Leo Stottmann and Carrie Bonnie (Sames) Stottmann. Mary married Marvell Odell Banks Sr. and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1990. Mary Lou dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ricky Stottmann; and sister, Margaret Rowan. She is survived by three sons, Marvel (Jokabed) Banks, Jr., Irvin (Donna) Banks, and Harry Beck; two brothers, Leo (Joan) Stottmann and Richard Stottmann; brother in law, John Stottmann; sister, Katherine (Tony) Seelbach; four grandchildren, Irvin Odell Banks III, Gabriel Banks, Juliet Banks, and Austin Banks; two great-grandchildren Nevaeh and Maddy. Mary Lou Banks will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love, and devotion to family, a legacy that will forever enrich the lives of those she leaves behind. The funeral service for Mary Banks will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Pigeon Roost cemetery in Underwood, Indiana.
