Mary Ellyn (King) Brandenburg, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Hampton Oaks Health Campus. She was born on November 7, 1940 in Morrisonville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Robert Delmore King, Sr. and Radia Thelma (Davis) King. Mary was married on Feb. 15, 1960 to Chester Gene "Moe" Brandenburg, who passed away on April 27, 2012. She was retired breakfast cook at the old Best Western Hotel in Scottsburg, Indiana and also had formerly worked at Morgan Foods and Genpak. Mary enjoyed horseback riding and training dogs in her younger years and also crocheting and sewing. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Robert D. King, Jr. and three sisters, Connie Stamper, Vickie Cooper and Glenda Brickley. Survivors include two sons, Chester Gene Brandenburg, Jr. of Little York, Indiana and Craig S. Brandenburg and his wife Penny of South Boston, Indiana; three daughters, Lucinda Bush and her husband Mike of Blocher, Indiana, Neva Brandenburg of Seymour, Indiana and Nita Jones of Scottsburg, Indiana; six brothers, Dallas King of Crothersville, Indiana, Jesse King of Bedford, Indiana, Glen and Johnny King both of Scottsburg, Indiana, Charles King of Melbourne, Florida and Joe King of Salt Lake, Michigan; three sisters, Gladys Carey and Jeannie Smith both of Scottsburg, Indiana and Barbara Jones of Little York, Indiana; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
