Mary Etta Cheatham

Mary Etta Cheatham, 96, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026, at Hampton Oaks Nursing Home in Scottsburg. She was born on February 7, 1930, in Springfield, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph K. and Mary Etta (Smothers) Cheatham.

Mary was a devoted homemaker, cherishing the time she spent with her family. She found joy in reading her Bible and playing Bingo, and she had a unique talent for remembering everyone's birthdays with a special gift.

At the age of 8, Mary moved to Indiana and settled in Scottsburg in 70s, where she remained a cherished member of the community. She lived her life as a Christian by faith, embodying love and kindness in all her interactions.In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with service starting at 2:00pm at Collins Funeral Home.
