Maylynn Ohanis, 55, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on May 12, 2026, at Norton Scott Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on November 4, 1970 in Norfolk, Virginia, to Lester Crudden and Nora (Spencer) Crudden. Maylynn graduated from South Newton Senior High School and later got her associate's degree from the old Spencerian College in Louisville, Kentucky. Maylynn touched the lives of many through her dedication as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Sellersburg Health Care for nearly a decade. Her compassion for her patients was evident in every interaction; she approached her work with unwavering love and commitment. Her pride in her children was matched only by the joy she found in her grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to her professional and personal commitments, Maylynn had a zest for life that shone through her love for playing board games, particularly when it came to playing to win. She also enjoyed spending her Friday nights participating in the league at Scottsburg Bowling Lanes. Maylynn was preceded in death by her father, Lester Crudden. Maylynn is survived by her mother, Nora Crudden; four sons, Skyler Ohanis, Brodie (Brooke) Ohanis, Josh Ohanis, and Jeremy (Autumn) Ohanis; four siblings, Tena (Tim) Woenker, Larry (Beth) Crudden, Tay Bunning, and Charlie (Dena) Crudden; seven grandchildren, Bryson, Parker, Peyton, Luna, Makena, Preston, and Violet; and her very best friends, Stacy (Eddie) Frazier. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Services honoring Maylynn’s life will be announced soon. Please share memories and condolences at www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
