Michael Leroy Smith, 73, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on December 12, 1947 in South Webster, Ohio, the son of the late Edward Clayton and Virginia Marie (Beesler) Smith. On January 29,1974 he married Cora Mae (Collier). He was a former employee of the Department of Natural Resources for 37 years. Mike loved western movies especially the ones with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Nancy Smith, and his great grandchild Colton Beswick. Survivors include daughter, Christina Beswick; son, Keith Smith, two sisters, Donna (John) Tucker and Pam (Roger) Jenkins; two brothers, Bob (Patty) Smith and Don (Sonya) Smith; grandchildren, Jeremy Beswick, Eric Beswick, and their father Luke Ockenhouse, Michael Smith and Virginia "Jenny" Smith and their mother Stephanie Cady. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Monday, September 20, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home with Chaplain T.C. Baker officiating.
