Obituary

Michelle Renee (Stutsman) Fields, 48, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at her home. She was born on January 8, 1972 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of Phillip P. Stutsman and June (Robison) Stutsman. Michelle graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1990 and also attended Indiana University and Ivy Tech. She was married on October 16, 1993 to James Darrell Fields and in 2018 they renewed their wedding vows celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Michelle was a member of Fisherman's Paradise Church. She held many jobs over her adult life including a manager of Crystal Clear Enterprises, assistant manager at Goodwill Industries, cashier at both Bacons and Cracker Barrel, aide at Res-Care Group Home and teaching assistant at Austin Elementary School (Preschool). Michelle was a 12 year member of Scottsburg Elementary School PTO and served on the board for two years, was a nine year member of Scottsburg Band Parents, a Cub Scout Leader and Cubmaster for Pack 23, a two year member of O.V.O. Policy Board and a Cheer Coach for three years at Scottsburg Elementary School. She loved spending time with her family and friends and exploring new places near and far. Survivors include her husband, James Darrell Fields; two children, Colton Darrell Fields and Hannah Love-Louise Fields and her mother, June Stutsman. Michelle was adopted and recently found out that she is also survived by several half-siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first born son, Jordan James Fields and her father, Phillip Stutsman. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home. A celebration of life open house will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home. The memorial service may be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 19, 2020. Services will be open to the public and social distancing guidelines will be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the visitation and face coverings will be required to attend. Private burial at a later date in Lexington Cemetery.
