Mickey A. Burns, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus. She was born on August 6, 1940 in Jefferson County, Indiana. Mickey graduated from Hanover High School in Hanover, Indiana and later was married on May 28, 1961 to Steve Burns. She was a former employee of the old U.S. Shoe Factory in Crothersville, Indiana, the old Paris Style in Madison, Indiana and former owner and operator of Yarn & Craft Paradise and Burn's Quilting in Scottsburg, Indiana. After her sons were grown, Mickey continued her education earning a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. She was a member of the Zoah Christian Church, a former member of O.E.S. Chapter 107 in Scott County, Indiana, the Scott County Homemakers Club and enjoyed quilting and crafting. Mickey was preceded in death by her mother, Clarice (Cole) Self and a brother and sister, Mike and Pam. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Steve Burns; two sons, Russell Allen Burns and Gary Burns (Cherri Steiner) all of of Scottsburg, Indiana; six grandchildren, Steven, Brad and Derek Burns, Tiffany Martin (Kyle), Michael Rice and Kimberly Stevenson (Bryan); fifteen great grandchildren and an aunt and cousin that were like sisters, Bea Switter and Roseanne Young.
