Nickey T. Stevens, 77, of Austin, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on December 4, 1945 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Ben Stevens and Virginia Elizabeth (Scott) Stevens. On May 25, 1968 he married Darlene (Collins) Stevens, who survives. He was the owner and operator of Nickey Stevens Plumbing in Austin, Indiana for forty-five years. Nickey was a Vietnam Navy Veteran and a lifetime member of the Crothersville Veterans of Foreign Wars post #1083. He was a proud American and an even more proud Dadaw. Nickey was very involved in his grandchildren's lives. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting rabbits and squirrels, and doing yard work. Nickey was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bennie Ray, Homer, and Jerry Albert; and two sisters, Betty and Patsy. In addition to his wife of fifty-five years, Darlene, Nickey is survived by two sons, Nick Anthony "Tony" Stevens of Austin, Indiana and Scott Wesley (Jennifer) Stevens of Macomb, Michigan; daughter, Heather Marinda (Shawn) Campbell of Scottsburg, Indiana; brother, Timmie (Marie) Stevens of Brownstown, Indiana; sister, Jean Moldero of Scottsburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, Camden Alan Jones, Carson T. Jones, Jackson Nicholas Stevens, and Katie Horstman. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor David Schill & Pastor Johnny Johnson officiating. Visitation 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, October 27, 2023, and after 9:00 am prior to services Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Zoah Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
