Nina Rose Vance, 91, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on November 17, 1932 in Austin, Indiana, to the late Lewis Sheridan Chasteen and Rose Blanche (Carr) Chasteen. She graduated from Scottsburg High School in Scottsburg, Indiana. On August 22, 1951 she married Thomas E Vance, who preceded her in death in 2021. Nina's faith was very important in her life. She was an incredibly active member of Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Nina played the piano, was in the choir for many years, and participated in the card ministry. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 23. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, and loved flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, Wayne Chasteen, Everett Chasteen, Wilbur Chasteen, and Lewis Jr. Chasteen; and two sisters, Wilma Hughbanks and Marie Campbell. Survivors include two daughters, Jan A. Vance of Muncie, Indiana and Pamela Vance (Rodney Burton) Priddy of Charlestown, Indiana; two grandchildren, Sean G.(Jennifer) Evans Charlestown, Indiana and Allison L. (Derek) Hoskins Hanover, Indiana; and eight great grandchildren, Claire, Alexandria, Skye, Asher, Cassian, Cooper, Rhys, and Brynn. Nina was also Godmother to Matthew Jourden, son of Linda and Tom Jourden of Lexington, Indiana. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Zachary Manton officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
