Norma Jean Allen, 86, of Scottsburg, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana, surrounded by her two daughters and son-in-law. She was born on August 3, 1937, in Chavies, Kentucky, to the late Harrison Noble and Katie (Neace) Noble. On August 2, 1958, she married Vernon Rex Allen, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2003. Jean attended the First Baptist Church and, alongside her late husband Rex, was a long-standing and active member of the Scottsburg Moose Lodge Post #2324 and Scottsburg American Legion Post #234. Her commitment to community involvement was a testament to her caring and generous spirit. Above all, Jean treasured her family. Her life was centered around their well-being and comfort. She provided a lovely home to gather and enjoyed preparing food to share. Her deviled eggs and potato salad were her requested favorites. Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rex; sister, Edith Lewis; and two brothers, Harlas Noble and David Noble. She is survived by her loving daughters, Jackie (Johnnie) Williams of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Dianna (Kerry Weaver) Allen-Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jimmie (Michelle) Pate, Brian Pate, Adam (Megan) Johnson, and Zachary (Angelica) Johnson; five great-grandchildren, Tiffany Pate, Scott Pate, Lindsay (Lee) Gettings, Dylan Pate, Landry Johnson, and Addison Johnson; and one great-great-grandchild, Braden Williams.

A private family Funeral Service will be held, and cremation will be entrusted to Collins Funeral Home, with interment to follow at the convenience of the family in Scottsburg Cemetery, Scottsburg, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Mooseheart, c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
