Ofa Hardin, "Mam", 94, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on December 26, 1927 in Owsley, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Noah and Addie (Bishop) Gay. She was a member of the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church and a devoted homemaker. Ofa loved taking care of her family, cooking, tending to her garden, and her chickens. In addition to her parents and late husband, Albert G., Ofa is preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine "Dino" Higdon; one brother, Kermit Gay; four sisters, Ida "Idie" Smith, Lillie "Sis" Cornett, Gladys Dailey, Grace Hardin; and her furry friend, Charlie Ryan. Survivors include her children, Albert Eugene Hardin, Jr., Vicki J. Hardin, Matthew (Linda) Hardin all of Scottsburg, Indiana; five grandchildren, Rachael N. Hardin, Matthew Lee "Roy" Hardin (Ashly), Taylor M. Edwards (Alex), Ashley M. "Tootie" Hardin (Matt), and Michael Owen Higdon; nine great grandchildren, Kylie "My Little Doll", Levi, Kason, Mae, Oaklee, Brixleigh, Willow, Pike, Shannon; her great great grandchildren; and her feathery friend, Birdie. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Matthew Craig officiating. Visitation: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2022, and after 9:00 am Thursday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
