Opal Phillips, 83, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on November 13, 1936 in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charlie Baker and Opsie (Baker) Baker. Opal worked at Bull's Cork and Bottle in Scottsburg, Indiana for twenty years. She had also formally worked at William's Manor Nursing Home in Scottsburg, Indiana and the U.S. Shoe Factory in Crothersville, Indiana. Opal was a member of the Chelsea Church of God and the Moose Family Center #2324. She enjoyed her flower garden, shopping, being with her family and was an avid I.U. fan. In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by four husbands. Survivors include her son, Charlie and his wife Pat Bulington of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Shirley Baker of Scottsburg, Indiana; two grandchildren, Patrick and Cara Bulington and five nieces, Brenda, Teresa, Linda, Donna, and Deva. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
