Obituary

Patsy Ann Craig, 69, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on September 9, 1950 in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lexie B. Barker and Fannie Mae (Prather) Barker. Patsy grew up in the Deputy area, attended Deputy Elementary School and graduated from Madison High School in 1969. She was married on Dec. 6, 1970 to Jerry L. Craig. Patsy was a retired quality control inspector at the old Freudenburg NOK in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she worked for 25 years and before retiring in 2009. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for 21 years and a Youth Group Leader for many years. Patsy loved playing with her kids and grand kids, enjoyed taking care of her fish in her fish pond and tending to the flowers around the pond. She also enjoyed watching the birds, singing old hymns and most of all being with her family and camping with her friends. In addition, she enjoyed making and painting Ceramics, crocheting and working puzzles. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by a brother, Rickey L. Barker and a sister, Kathleen S. Barker-Plessinger. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jerry L. Craig; a daughter, Tammy A. Densford of Scottsburg, Indiana; a son, Matthew S. Craig and his wife Jessica of Scottsburg, Indiana; six grandchildren, Gannon S., Garrett L. and Gage M. Densford, Nowlin W., Preston L. and Lila L. Craig; three brothers, Gerald D. Barker and wife Katherine of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Robert J. Barker and wife Candy of Deputy, Indiana, Gary Young and wife Bonnie of Claremont, North Carolina; her mother-in-law, Ann Craig of Scottsburg, Indiana; her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Craig-McElhany and husband Robert of Seymour, Indiana, Shirley Craig-Black and husband Fred of Hanover, Indiana, Ebbie Craig of Scottsburg, Indiana and Anita Barker of Dupont, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Bill Craig and wife Sharon of Scottsburg, Indiana and David Plessinger of Nashville, Indiana and twenty-one nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the First Christian Church with Randy Beard and Phil Miller officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday and after 9:00 am on Tuesday at the First Christian Church. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
