IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phillip
Wheat
May 21, 1962 – November 20, 2024
Phillip Edward Wheat, 62, of North Vernon, Indiana tragically lost his life in a house fire. Phillip was born on May 21, 1962, to John and Janet (Trowbridge) Wheat in Louisville, Kentucky. Phillip was a graduate of Clover Hill High School in Richmond, Virginia. He entered the workforce after high school and spent several years working for Lowes. He retired earlier this year from Toyota where he had been for the last 15 years working in quality control. He was proud to keep his home in North Vernon in immaculate condition, from the front door to the fire pit, his attention to detail was evident. He truly loved the outdoors in every aspect, whether hunting or fishing, he was in his element. Numerous trophy mounts are displayed in his home. His competitive side led him to the game of golf, and he was also gifted at throwing horseshoes. Phillip will be dearly missed by his son Phillip Forest Wheat of North Vernon, Indiana, his mother, Janet Wheat of Scottsburg, Indiana, and nephews Scott and Jonathon McCrory of Scottsburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father John, two brothers Roger and Scott, and a sister Vicki. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on May 31, 2025 at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Online condolences and additional information can be found at www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
