Phyllis (Marion) Comer, 85, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Traditions Senior Care Facility in Sellersburg, Indiana. She was born on October 7, 1934 in Washington County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Homer Marion and Inez (Robinson) Marion. Phyllis was married on April 2, 1984 to Floyd W. Comer, who preceded her in death on June 14, 2008. She was a retired supervisor of the dietary department for the old William's Manor Nursing Home in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she worked for over 20 years. Phyllis was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Leota, Indiana, enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Marion and three sisters, Almeda Price, Bonnie Sue Hardin and Carol Valentine. Survivors include three sons, Bill (Florence) Burton, Logan Mitchell and Ed Mitchell all of Scottsburg, Indiana; four daughters, Dolly Brais, Sharon Burton and Shirley (Dave) Mitchell-North all of Scottsburg, Indiana and Rose (Harry) Law of Underwood, Indiana; four brothers, Robert (Linda) Marion and Victor (Diane) Marion all of New Hampshire, Leon (Arlene) Marion of North Vernon, Indiana and Frank Marion of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Norma Coats of Salem, Indiana; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Jason Bagwell. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 1:00 pm on Tuesday. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday and after 10:00 am on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
