Phyllis Deen Sherron Hale, 85, of Scottsburg, passed away on January 17, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born August 3, 1939, in Leavenworth, Indiana to Solomon "Sollie" and Vivian Beatrice Coleman Sherron. She graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1957. She married James Marvin Hale on September 19, 1959, and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2016. She was a member of Scottsburg First Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She retired from Scottsburg Middle School Cafeteria after 25 years. She enjoyed making crafts and sharing them with others. Phyllis is survived by her children, Barbara (Bernie) Jackson of Terre Haute, IN, Lisa (Rob) Spencer of Scottsburg, Steve (Jeanette) Hale of Jasper, IN, and Brad (Sherri) Hale of Scottsburg, IN, a brother, Jack (ReeAnn) Sherron of Salem, IN and a sister, Glenda Nobles of Salem, IN, grandchildren, Brandon Jackson, Brittany Janiszewski (Jeff), Brianna Jackson, Bradley, Bryan (Emily), Hunter (Anne) and Cameron (Cori) Spencer, Nicholas (Rachel), Ashley Hale, Shelby (Jacob) Dorsey, Braden (Grace) and Jameson Hale and great-grandchildren, Liam Spencer, Lyla Spencer, Lorraina Dorsey, Elanor Janiszewski, Josie Spencer, Lillian Dorsey, Ellie Mae Hale and soon to be Baby Boy Spencer. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, James Hale, her parents, Solomon "Sollie" Sherron and Vivian Sherron, as well as a sister, Avis Barker and brother-in-law, Frank Nobles. The funeral service for Phyllis Hale will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Scottsburg First Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Concluding services and interment will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Salem, IN. Memorial donations can be made in Phyllis' name to Scottsburg First Baptist Church Social/Benevolence Committee.
