Phyllis Anne Hale, 82, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on September 15, 1939 in Lexington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Loui and Mildred (Leland ) Bruther. She was the owner of Phyllis's Beauty Shop in Lexington, Indiana for sixty plus years. She attended the Lexington Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Indiana. On May 3, 2004 she married Ernest "Chick" L. Hale, who passed away on May 2, 2011. In addition to her parents Phyllis was preceded by her three husbands, Maynard Ponder, Paul Sparkman, and Ernest Hale; and brother, Dwight Bruther. Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Brent) Bowles of Lexington, Indiana; two sons, Troy (Lilly) Ponder and Allan Ponder both of Lexington, Indiana; sister, Audrey (Gary ) LaMaster of Scottsburg, Indiana; sister in law, Linda Bruther; and four grandchildren, Brandi (Dakota) Geyer, Trent (Bree Bailey) Ponder, Colton (Tori Durand) Bowles, and Ashton Bowles. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Monday, October 25, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Aaron Flucke officiating. Visitation 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday at Collins Funeral Home.
