Rash Sebastian, Sr., 91, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on May 11, 1929 in Breathitt County, Kentucky, the son of the late Fred Sebastian and Julia (McIntosh) Sebastian. Rash was married on July 15, 1950 to Renetta (Napier) Sebastian, who passed away on March 7, 2016. He was a former welder for Arvin Industries in Seymour, Indiana, also the owner and operator of the old Southside Auto Sales in Austin, Indiana and part owner in Executive Auto's in Winter Haven, Florida. Rash attended the Safe Harbor Church in Memphis, Indiana. In addition to his wife and parents, Rash was preceded in death by two brothers, Layton and William Sebastian and a sister, Bertha Gross. Survivors include a son, Rash Sebastian, Jr. (Sharon) of Austin, Indiana; a daughter, Gayle Michelle Sebastian of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, James E. Sebastian (Gladys) and Samuel Sebastian (Sharon) all of Austin, Indiana; a sister, Ethel Combs (Rex) of Austin, Indiana; five grandchildren, Michael Sebastian, Amy Lamar (Martin), Travis Babbs (Melissa), Misty Barnes (Phil) and Lance Draper (Lindsay) and ten great grandchildren, Mitchel, Noah, Ashlynn, Molly, Corbin, Alek, Brayden, Ava, Reese and Casen. Private family funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Chaplain T. C. Baker officiating. Funeral services may be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 3:00 pm on Friday. Public visitation: 5 to 7 pm on Thursday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
