Retha Jourden, 78, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on March 22, 1943 in Nabb, Indiana, the daughter of the late Everett Barmore and Iris (LeLand) Barmore. She was a member of the New Bethel Church in Chelsea, Indiana. Retha was the epitome of unconditional love. She loved caring for and spoiling her children and grandchildren. She was a homemaker that enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. On June 22, 1963 she married her loving husband, Thomas Jourden, Sr. , who survives. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorcas Coomes. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Jourden, Sr.; two sons, Thomas "Tom" (Linda) Jourden, Jr. of Lexington, Indiana, and James (Christi) Jourden of Underwood, Indiana; a daughter, Sandra Jourden of Lexington, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, David Jourden (Sarah), Chris, Michael, Matthew, Megan, Isaiah, and Molly Jourden, Jessica Lawson (Tommy), Allie Hudson (Cameron), Kaytlyn Julian, and Zachary Vickers; and three great grandchildren, Alexa, Lillian, and Natalie. Funeral Service: 3:00 pm Friday, November 12, 2021 at New Bethel Church with Pastor Brent Calloway and David Leland officiating. Visitation: 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm Friday at New Bethel Church.
