Richard E. "Rick" Allman, 68, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on July 21, 1954, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Dwight and Shirley (McNeil) Allman, who survives. He graduated from Ironton Ohio High School in 1972 then went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee, graduating in 1976. On August 12, 2002, he married Cindy (Combs) Allman. He was a member of Memphis Christian Church, where he played base in the band. Rick and Cindy loved spending time together fishing. Rick enjoyed painting nature scenes and was a supporter of the Art Council in Scottsburg when it was in Scott County. Rick was an avid amateur radio operator in Scottsburg with the call sign W9REA. He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Allman. He is survived by his mother Shirley Allman of Johnson City, Ohio; his wife, Cindy Allman of Scottsburg, Indiana; his brother, Roger Allman and Wife Janie of Johnson City, Tennessee; his four children, William Allman and his partner Kaitlin Rose of Groton, Connecticut, Charlotte Allman of Plymouth, New Hampshire, Jason Ray of Crawfordsville, Florida and Tina Gourley and her partner Rick Wykoff of Scottsburg, Indiana; and five grandchildren, Liam Allman, Caden, Katelyn, Wesley, and Josh Gourley. Rick also leaves behind his niece Anna Ellis and husband, Phillip; and his nephew, John Allman and his wife Laura. Celebration of Life service will be held 7:00pm on September 29, 2022 at Memphis Christian Church with David Colbert, Minister officiating. Visitation is from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Memphis Christian Church. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
