Richard Earl Howard, 61, of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on January 23, 1960 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the son of Norman R. Howard and Mary Elizabeth (Carpenter) Howard. Richard graduated from Southwestern High School in 1979. He was an employee of Nippon Steel Pipe in Seymour, Indiana and a former employee of the old Holm Industries and ILPEA in Scottsburg, Indiana, where he worked for 20 years. Richard retired after 20 years as an E-4 from the Indiana Army National Guard. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and loved spending time with his family. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Norman Howard; a son, Jonathan Richard Howard and a daughter, Michelle D. Davis. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Donna F. (Bowlin) Howard; a son, Matthew Paul Howard (Nora) of Austin, Indiana; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Howard of Madison, Indiana; a sister, Velma Simpson (Andrew) of Madison, Indiana; a brother, N. Leroy Howard (Stephanie) of Deputy, Indiana; a son-in-law, Raymond Davis, III of Crothersville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Aaron and Jonathan Davis, Danielle and Gunner Howard, Raymond Davis, IV and Melissa Carol Ann Jamiel. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Wingham officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed by the public on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 2:00 pm on Sunday. Visitation: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment will be in Hanover Presbyterian Cemetery.
