Richard L. Moore, 78, of Scottsburg, Indiana, formerly of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg. He was born on December 3, 1941 in Crothersville, Indiana, the son of the late Charles Calvin Moore and Luella A. (Iiams) Moore. Richard was a retired computer programmer for Herff Jones, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana, an U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and an avid Cleveland Browns Fan. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a half brother, Donald Gene Moore. Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Minton of Scottsburg, Indiana; a son, Christopher Moore of New Albany, Indiana; a brother, Michael Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 2:30 pm on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation: 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Friday at Collins Funeral Home. This will be open to the public and up to 25 visitors will be allowed in the funeral home at a time as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the visitation and face coverings will be required to attend. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
