Ricky Sweet, 61, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on May 16, 1960 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Irven H. Sweet and Elizabeth (Lank) Sweet-Fisher. On June 19, 1978 he married Genia (McWilliams) Sweet, who survives. He was the co-owner of Rick and Jeff's Floor Covering's in Scottsburg, Indiana for twenty years. Rick was a long-time member of the American Legion Post #234, where he also worked as a bartender. He was also a lifetime fellowship member at the Scott County Moose Lodge #2324. In his spare time Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and in previous years had always been an avid deer hunter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Robert, James "Jim", and Irven "Sonny" Sweet. Survivors include his wife, Genia (McWilliams) Sweet; son, Dustin Sweet of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Kristen (Martin) Scott of Scottsburg, Indiana and Aleshia (Matt) Campbell of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; brother, Herman "Butch" (Amanda) Sweet; five sisters, Patricia "Pat" Amos, Sally Fluhr, Florence Powers, Dixie (Ed) Robinson, and Debra (Ira "Ike") Hurtt; and seven grandchildren, Jared Scott, EmmaKae Sweet, Kegan Sweet, Brock, Grady, Rosie, and Delilah Campbell. Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with John Lowry officiating. Visitation: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday.
