Robert "Bob" Craig, 99 and 9 months, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 with his family by his side at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on September 9, 1921 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late George Craig and Margaret (Gardner) Craig. Bob married Margery (Ely) Craig in 1941, who preceded him in death on July 23, 1998. He retired from the American Can in Austin, Indiana. Bob loved flying airplanes, gardening, joking and hanging out with his buddies at Lake Iola. He especially loved traveling on his bike with Margery. Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and received a Purple Heart for his service. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob is preceded in death by four brothers, Lloyd, Thomas, Lee, and Jim Craig and three sisters, Ester Martin, Fern Sturdvant, and Mae Arbuckle. Survivors include his daughter, Susie (Albert) Reardon of Austin, Indiana; three grandchildren, Pam Lukenbill, Angie Reardon, and Becky (Gary) Clemons; four great grandchildren, Brittany, Amanda, Bailey, and Robert and eight great-great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Matt Craig officiating.
