Robert "Bob" G. Ely, 77, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on December 20, 1943 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Robert Theodore and Anna Marie (Hobbs) Ely. On February 2, 1963 he married Carol B. (Barger) Ely, who passed away February 1, 2004. Bob was a Scottsburg High School graduate in the Class of 1961. He was retired from Cummins Engine Inc. in Columbus, Indiana, where he worked for 30 plus years. He was an avid raccoon hunter, enjoyed coaching little league baseball in Scottsburg and basketball at Lexington Elementary School. He was a member of the Scott County Moose Lodge #2324 and the Scottsburgh Lodge #572 F & AM. In addition to his wife and parents, Bob is preceded by his sister, Phyllis Reardon. Survivors include two sons, Robert J. (Debbie) Ely of Deputy, Indiana and Thomas R. (Jenny) Ely of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Joyce Petty and Rita Masnick both of Scottsburg, Indiana; four grandchildren; Trenton Darly Amburgey (Beth), Pamela Meadows (Jordan), Robert Matthew Ely, and Carol Jean Ely; and two great grandchildren Harlee Grace and Carter Knox Amburgey. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Matt Craig officiating. Visitation 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, November 26, 2021 and after 10:00 am Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
