Obituary

Robert E. "Robby" Kloke, 57, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on September 24, 1963 in Geneva, Kentucky, the son of the late Oscar and Marilyn (Bennett) Kloke. Robby graduated from Henderson County High School in Henderson Kentucky in the Class of 1981. He then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. He was married on Sept. 20, 1986 to Susan B. (Berry) Kloke. Robby was an overnight support lead manager for Walmart in Scottsburg, Indiana and had worked for the company for 34 years. He was a member of the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church Lexington, Indiana, where he was very active and had served in the churches music ministry playing the piano. Robby served as a Chaplain for Scott County and very involved in the jail ministry. He also was a active participant for EMMAUS, which is a weekend retreat for growing Christians and the group called Residents Encountering Christ (REC). Robby was an active Dean and former Board Member for the Southeastern Baptist Youth Camp in Westport, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Steven Kloke. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Susan Kloke; a daughter, Noel (Luke) Whitten of Columbus, Indiana; two sons, Benjamin (Lauren) Kloke of McCordsville, Indiana and Tyler (Leah) Griffin of Crothersville, Indiana; two sisters, Vicki (Allen) Kloke-Smith of Henderson, Kentucky and Joyce (Tim) Burdon of Mexico, Kentucky; a brother, John (Elizabeth "Betsy") Kloke of Henderson, Kentucky; a granddaughter, Whitley Whitten and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family only funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor David Schill and Rev. Timothy Mohon officiating. Funeral services may be viewed by the public on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 2:00 pm on Monday. Visitation: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed and will be limited to 25 people in the building. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate. Private interment will be in Kimberlin Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Scott County Jail Ministry c/o the Scott County Sheriff's Department Commissary Fund.
