Robert "Rob" Skelton, 78, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.
Rob was born on December 16, 1947, in Woodland, California, the beloved son of Robert and Elizabeth Skelton. He was a 1966 graduate of Scottsburg High School and later graduated from Ball State University in 1976.
Rob was a member of First Christian Church in Scottsburg. He was a dedicated worker who retired from Multicolor after 23 years as a forklift operator. He had also worked at the former R.L.White Printing Company in Louisville.
Rob proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
Above all, Rob loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with them. He had a creative spirit and enjoyed woodworking and painting. He also loved adventure, especially his memorable Whitewater rafting trips.
Rob will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, his creativity, and the many memories he made with those who knew and loved him.In addition to his parents Rob was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Skelton; brother, Patrick Skelton; and grandchild, Joshua David Caudill. Rob is survived by his two daughters, Christina Diann Cress(John Buehner), Dana Leigh Caudill; brother in law, William David (Brenda) Lane of Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Cameron Carter, Brooklyn McIntosh, Mandy Hughes, Jacob Barrett, Gracie Caudill; along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, Oct 7, 2026 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Collins Funeral Home. There will be military honors held at 4:00pm in Collins Funeral Home parking lot in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made to Kosair Charities in the name of Joshua Caudill or Ronald McDonald House in c/o Collins Funeral Home.
