Roger Allen Shuler, 87, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 20, 1938, in Irvine, Kentucky, the son of Roy and Clay Shuler.

Roger proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After his service, he dedicated 25 years to Stucker Fork Water, where he retired after a long and faithful career. He was a devoted member of Alpha Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana.

Roger will be remembered for his kind spirit, his deep love of family, and his remarkable talent for woodworking. A true craftsman, he could build just about anything and took great pride in his work. Those who knew him best will fondly recall his famous saying, "The main thing is, don't get excited." He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren, often giving them joyful rides on his lawnmower around the yard. Roger was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Davidson, Marcella Griffiths; brothers, Jesse, Oscar, and Bobby Shuler. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Thelma Shuler; daughters, Missy Bagshaw, Melinda Shuler; son, Allen Shuler(Danielle); sisters, Ada Malcomb, Joyce Lamb, Donna Shockley; brothers, Mike Shuler(Angie), Bill Shuler(Joyce), along with several half brothers & sisters; 7 grandchildren; Josh, Brittany, Anthony, Jordan, Jackson, Samantha, Brooklynn.There will be a visitation held on Monday, April 13, 2026 from 10-1pm with service to follow at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lickbranch Cemetery.
