Roy Lynn Schneck, 82, Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
He was born September 20, 1940, at the Napper Clinic in Scottsburg to Roy F. Schneck and Lillian E (Judd) Schneck of Austin, IN. Roy Lynn was married to Joyce I Schneck since May 20, 1989, when they were married at the Austin Methodist Church.
Roy was a proud 1958 graduate of Austin High School, attended Hanover College, and received a degree from Purdue University. Roy was a member of the First Christian Church of Scottsburg, Austin Jaycees, and the Austin Lions Club.
Over the years Roy was employed by the American Can Company, operated the Schneck Oil Company and Tire, built National Homes, performed furnace repairs, plastics and metals recycling, excavation work, and worked at the Morgan Packing Company, among many other endeavors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Howard Edwin Schneck. Roy is survived by his wife Joyce Schneck, and children. Surviving are a daughter, Rhona and Kevin Whicker of Scottsburg, and three sons, Rudy and Trish Lucas of Scottsburg, Rick and Sharon Lucas of Scottsburg, and Todd and Victoria Schneck of Russiaville, IN.
Their six grandchildren include Derek and Julie Lucas of Georgetown IN, Dallas and Lakyn Lucas of Scottsburg IN, Megan and Robbie Stidham of Seymour IN, Kayla and Randy Goff of Scottsburg IN, Dylan Lucas of Scottsburg IN, and Grant Schneck of Indianapolis IN.
Together they have ten great grandchildren including Griffen, Graham, and Finley Lucas of Georgetown IN, Lexie Cole-Fox, Izzak Cole-Fox, Callie and Tyson Lucas of Scottsburg IN, Britain and Meliah Pulliam of Seymour IN, and Beatrice Goff of Scottsburg IN.
Roy lived his life in full measure to the service of others and to all his endeavors. His efforts to the Scott County community through the many clubs and organizations was substantial. The man he was is the man he wanted to be, caring, giving, strong willed, and God loving. He was good at being the man that people needed and could lean on to get things done.
Friends may call from 1:00pm -3:00pm Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the First Christian Church of Scottsburg, Indiana. Funeral Services will be at 3:00pm with burial to follow at the Scottsburg Cemetery.
