Russell Wayne Cozart, 78, of Crothersville, Indiana passed away on October 7, 2025, at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on May 6, 1947, in Retreat, Indiana to the late Russell Cozart and Edna (Stout) Cozart. Wayne graduated from Crothersville High School in 1965. On December 26, 1969, Wayne married the love of his life, Nina Rumple, and she survives. Wayne was a resident of Crothersville, Indiana, where he lived a life defined by love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family. Wayne dedicated over twenty-five years of his life to the American Can Company in Austin, Indiana and later Hammond, Indiana, followed by nearly twenty years at Walmart Distribution. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, he was a steadfast provider for his family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often found mowing the yard or washing the cars, activities that brought him joy and satisfaction. His warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Michael Cozart; one sister, Patty Matthews; and one grandson, Andre Cozart. Wayne is survived by his wife, Nina Cozart of Crothersville, Indiana; two daughters, Christie (Marc) Carr of Austin, Indiana and Suzie (Bobby) Riley of Crothersville, Indiana; one son, Andrew Cozart; nine grandchildren, Malachi (Hanah) Carr, Samuel Carr, Eli Carr, Brady (Jayla) Riley, Maddie (Jackson) Land, Baron Riley, Abbie (Aaron) Cozart, Maggie Cozart, and Emmitt Cozart; and one great grandchild, Halle Kay Riley. The funeral for Wayne Cozart will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 5:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Marc Carr officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service on Sunday, from 2:00pm till the service at 5:00pm at Collins Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service with a private burial at Uniontown Cemetery in Crothersville, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Wayne's name to The Center for Courageous Kids in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
