Ruth Witcher, 89, of Underwood, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on January 16, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late Rufus and Mallie (Moxley) Wiggins. On September 7, 1950, she married Dewey Wilburn "Pop", who passed away on November 1, 1998. Ruth was a homemaker, a former employee at the old Park & Eat Restaurant and the old Scottsburg Foundry. She was a member of the Underwood Baptist Church and the old Underwood Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition to her parents and late husband, Ruth is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Ann Miller; five brothers, John, Raymond, Curtis, Paul, Bill and Robert Wiggins and one sister, Ethel Jackson. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Shaw-Seadler of Henryville, Indiana and Shirley (Rick) Koetter of Borden, Indiana; a son, Thomas Edward Witcher of Sellersburg, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Ronnie, Wende, Steven, Shana, Courtney, Lisa, Missy, Shane and Brandon and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment will be in Sodom Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Sodom Cemetery Association c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
