Obituary

Sarah Jane Collings, 88, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at her residence. She was born on April 10, 1932 in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Mathias Leander Lewis and Sally (Miller) Lewis. Sarah was married on Sept. 2, 1950 to Joe Lee Collings, who passed away on May 23, 2010. She was a former employee of the old H.K. Porter Company in Frankfort, Kentucky and a member of the Church of God in Frankfort, Kentucky. Sarah loved working in her flower gardens and crocheting. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Lee Collings, Jr.; a daughter, Edith M. Kirk and several siblings. Survivors include a son, Clarence M. Collings of Frankfort, Kentucky; two daughters, Grace A. Collings of Frankfort, Kentucky and Wanda S. Hellard of Danville, Kentucky; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. There will be a visitation from 12 until 2 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face coverings are strongly encouraged. Private burial will follow in Cravens Cemetery in Vienna, Indiana.
