Scott Bowling, 63, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on July 14, 2024, at Norton Scott Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on September 24, 1960, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Edward Bowling and Dorothy (Deaton) Bowling. Scott dedicated his life to his family, community, and country. His legacy of kindness and dedication will forever be cherished by all who knew him. Scott graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1980 and went on to earn a bachelor's in business from Indiana University in 1993. On October 29, 1998, Scott married the love of his life, Joyce, and she survives. He also served in the United States Army as a combat military police. Throughout his career in sales, Scott made lasting connections with those he encountered, leaving a positive impact on everyone he met. One of his favorite positions was with the old Giveaway newspaper out of Scottsburg, Indiana. His passion for martial arts led him to become a taekwondo instructor at the Scottsburg YMCA, where he shared his knowledge and skills with others, leaving a lasting legacy in the community. Scott was a champion board game player, even being a member of a local group called, The Campaigners. Scott is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Terry Collins. In addition to his wife, Joyce, Scott is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth (Lisa) Bowling of Scottsburg, Indiana, Virginia (Herbert) Bowling of Scottsburg, Indiana, Rachel (Michael) Duckwall of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Sarah (Anthony) Bowling of Deputy, Indiana; one sister, Ginger (Victor) Miranda; eleven grandchildren, Beth, Ricky, Ieshia, Alaisha, Gabriel, Willow, Bowty, Isabelle, Grady, Charles, and Mildred; eight great grandchildren, Skylar, Sophia, Rhett, Adilynn, Silas, Jordan, Clifton Jr., and Luna Rea; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00am at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Collins Funeral Home and on Wednesday at 10:00am prior to the service. Burial will follow at Spurgeon Cemetery in Austin, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Scott's name to Dad's Blessings, a program through the Scott County School District 2 to help offset lunch expenses in c/o Collins Funeral Home.
