Sharon E. McLaughlin, 84, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Scott Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 4, 1936 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Ruth (Tucker) Egan. Sharon was a homemaker and a member of the Charlestown United Methodist Church in Charlestown, Indiana. She enjoyed crafts and especially spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. McLaughlin on Sept. 21, 1992; two brothers, Jack and Clyde Egan and a sister, Emily Halter. Survivors include two sons, Patrick F. McLaughlin of Terre Haute, Indiana and Michael A. McLaughlin of Austin, Indiana; one grandson, Stephan McLaughlin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday and after 10 am on Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and funeral services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed.
