Sharon Sue Miller, 84, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and dedicated social worker, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home in Scottsburg, Indiana surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born on November 21, 1939, in Salem, Indiana. She later graduated from Salem High School in Salem, Indiana. On November 6, 1993 Sharon married Ben Miller, and he survives. Sharon pursued her passion for helping others through working with families and children through Child Protective Services and Kids Place, where she touched countless lives and made a profound impact on the community she served. Over her lifetime she cared for over one hundred foster children. Her dedication to helping others, especially children, was a testament to her kind and compassionate nature. Sharon also loved spending her spare time outdoors relaxing on her back porch. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Cletis (Cuppy) Weir; a son, Mark; and four siblings, Marion, Pat, Charles, and Jimmy. In addition to her husband of thirty years, Ben, Sharon is survived by her children Lyndal (Tracy) Hutton, Jeff Hutton, Steve (Susie) Hutton, Paul Hutton, Jennifer Hutton, Kim (Bobby) Knox, and Chris (Vickie) Miller; brother, Don Draper; sister, Jeanette Pettry; twenty grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing Wednesday starting at 9:00 am. Additionally, a viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm. Following the service there will be a private burial at Beech Grove Cemetery in Salem, Indiana.
